Just a quick question about objectives that change challenges and deckers
doing recon. Take for example, the security decker challenge. If a
person used a runner to do recon on this challenge (say while it was on
clease the hive) would it be seen as a bug, or would the security decker
take effect. Normally, someone wouldn't recon challenges on this, but
there is always the possibility that I'm putting bluffs on the objective.

All imput is welcome.

Thanks in advance,

My go would be that the player is definitely able to look at the actual
card, since Recon is spelled out in terms of the physical action; to me,
using the term "face the result instead of the Challenge" indicates the
replacement happens only on a shadowrun (since you're not facing a
Challenge during Recon, your revealing -- ohh, those semantics again!)

My feeling is that the Cleanse Hunt objective would change all
challenges automatically into an appropriate bug. Laying a challenge
down on such an objective turns the challenge into something else (but
a bluff remains a bluff as in FASA FAQ). You're laying down a
CHALLENGE but not a specific CHALLENGE, you're just adding bugs (or
football teams) that the Runners will encounter. Using Recon on a
challenge covering Bug Hunt would only tell the Runner whether there
is a challenge actually (not a bluff) but a security decker wouldn't
fry the recon decker as the challenge (the decker)has been changed to
a bug.......
