here is a fix that I think most people will like and will solve the
problem of fragging a runner for less then his deployment cost.

make Cement Shoes only target an opponents runner. there for you can
not target your own cheap runner to SoC another players high cost
runner.

just a thought that i had to keep this combo the kick in the pants
that it can be.

This one is still bothering me, It has the potential of being a great card
(Cement Shoes) this is how I see the situation going down...

I play my Cement shoes on Noahs', Loki, cuz he's been treatin my trolls badly,
then Noah, hits me with the old State of Confusion, and targets my, Stomper
(cuz he just kicks ass), I lose out on my nuyen, and he Redirects my hired
killers to do away with Stomper, instead of Loki, as I had planned. No fuss
no muss this is how it should work...look at it this way, if I only had
out...say....Static, and I had targeted, Skwaaaaaark, I still get some one
bumped off it just cost me more and of course I lose my only runner ...but
these are the chances one takes when you run the shadows...but try this as
well, say I have out Longhorn, and pull this same Loki tactic (cuz I don't
want him creating havok with my only troll runner) when the SoC is played I
still lose my runner, and because I'm a good sport I take my medicine and wait
to play some other card, later...maybe Even Steven when he goes fishing for
gear or runners...and hope there are no more SoCs' in his hand...these are the
breaks kids, playground rules in effect

I don't have a State of Confusion so I'm not SURE you could do this, but if
I'm correct...

the DLOH's are right that it HAS to be 'the runner whom CS is redirected to
must cost less or nothing happens.' Otherwise, I target my own Static,
play SoC, pay the 1¥ and then frag your Skwaaaaaark. How annoying would
THAT be?

Yes but think about this the card was IMHO meant to be used against the other
player(s) not your own runner...what fun is it to kill off your own runners
and not be able to take an objective...the object of the game is to win not
see how many of your own "cheap"runners you can frag

Maybe it's annoying and maybe it's really unfair, but it's not a game
winning combo (it may be in some situations, you know what I mean). The
shadows aren't fair chummer. You always have the chance to LotI the card
or SoC it back to your oponent. Wabbit's feet could also be used. Both
Soc and CS are rare cards and probably won't be in a lot of decks. Why
not let a good combo let lie? I'm all for editing a card that stops the
game. But for heaven sakes, it'll only geek 1 runner. Sure, you can
shuffle through all your cards to get the combo again, but how long will
that take til you get both in your hand again? I can see how this could
be abusive if a player had 4 CS and 4 SoC in a deck. Maybe it's not how
the DLOH's intended the card to be played, but it's a damn good combo.

nevermind...

Look at it from the fictional point of view, how many Mafia Bosses geek
their own men? I can't think of one Mob movie where a member of the mob
isn't killed by the boss.

Static's skimm'n data off da top again boss, should we take 'im shoe
shopp'n?

<later that night>

I think da boss gave us da wrong name, Mugsy. You know how happy he'd be
if we called him this early in da morn'n? Les just find dis Torgo fella
and drop him in da bay, k?

In other words, it happens.
