Here's some answers to recent questions:

~!~!~!~!~!

The word "encountered" on Widow's Trap means what that word usually
means in
the "real" world (ie: outside of CCGs, where we all twist and abuse
language
to our own ends). One Widow's Trap has been revealed, and you've read
and
addressed the text on the card, it has been encountered and it is
trashed.

The reason it doesn't asy "Trash after Revealed" is because that
particular
phrase will be gone after Second Run is released (after all, you
really don't
trash Challenges immediately after they are revealed. They'd have no
effect!).

I'm sure this response will stir some controversy, but let me point
out that
Widow's Trap is considerably nastier than Chomps 2000. Like Chomps, it
almost
guarantees that the shadowrun is over. However, if the player needs to
continue to stay in the game, he doesn't just face 6 points of damage
(which
may or may not kill a Runner). He faces the chance of losing 1, 2, or
ALL of
his Runners. That's pretty nasty…

At worst, Widow's Trap stops a 'run. That's not bad…

I also want to give you an update on the Cement Shoes/State of Confusion
combo:

We still aren't raedy to make a final ruling on this, but I can tell
you what
we're leaning toward, which is:

If Player 1 plays Cement Shoes (and spends X¥ to do it) and Player 2
rersponds
by playing State of Confusion, the "new legal target" of Cement Shoes
must
cost X¥ or less.

I like this solution. We'll see if it sticks…

Jim N.

Though this might be a fair solution, the shadows aren't always fair and
all that amending this card does is add another slot to the FAQ. Which,
IMHO is already too full. Oh well, I'm just begging you, please don't
prevent this combo. It's not a game stopper, it's just a really nasty
combo. There are a lot easier and cheaper ways to trash a runner
(fragging is just one more step).

yes, paying 3 nuyen to frag a runner is extremely cheap, but you need both
of those cards in your hand and you need to turn a mafia runner, plus it's
not like it's a combo that can be used whever you want. Are there any
cards that can retrieve a special from the trash? Or even to search your
deck for a special? I didn't look through my cards, but I can't think of
any off hand.

more nuyen.

Well, it's not official yet, Brad. There's still hope!

I like it too. Make's sense and sticks to the apparent 'intent' of both
cards. Besides, it probably takes more concrete to hold Goretusk underwater
than it would Static :).
