Shadowrun Trading Card Game
MORE CARDS, MORE FUN, MORE SHADOWRUN!
FASA ANNOUNCES TCG EXPANSION AND SECOND PRINTING
FASA Corporation kicks off 1998 with the release of The Underworld,
the first expansion to their highly successful Shadowrun Trading Card
Game. FASA will also release Second Run, the second printing of the
game.
The Underworld expansion is due to ship in February. This expansion
will consist of approximately 135 cards, sold in booster packs. The
Underworld takes players to the criminal underbelly of the Shadowrun®
universe as described in products for the Shadowrun RPG such as The
Underworld Sourcebook. This expansion set includes new Runners,
Challenges, gear and more! Players can create Yakuza, Mafia, street
gang or Lone Star decks-or use new card types for totems and gang
allegiance to give existing ganger and shaman cards a bigger role in
the game.
"The Underworld includes new game mechanics, such as Virus tokens,
which deteriorate a Runner's capabilities," said game designer Mike
Nielsen. "New card themes are highlighted through Objectives,
Challenges, Locations and Contacts as well as Runners. The new themes
quadruple the possibilities for building theme decks. Totems, gang
affiliations and a focus on using skills for more than sleazing add
multiple layers to play. And, players with elf decks can finally get
revenge on Lord Torgo!"
Second Run, the second printing of the Shadowrun Trading Card Game, is
due to ship in January. This second printing features new cards, new
art for some existing cards, and clarifies rules on the cards and in
the rulebook. "New Objectives will add more variety and a lot more
options for what you can do in the game," said game designer Mike
Nielsen. "Clearer text makes for smoother game play. We also responded
to player requests, such as including a Jack Skater Prime Runner card."
The Underworld will be sold in packs of 15 game cards, 36 packs to a
display. You need the Shadowrun Trading Card Game to play. Second Run
will be sold in 70-card decks, 10 decks to a display, and 15-card
boosters, 36 boosters to a display.
