Ok heres another one for you to all ponder and give me your best
suggestions. I'm looking to build a deck around 4 Flatline cards. I'm
looking for the most economical and potent weapon/ammo combinations that
will outfit these runners. I'm looking for this to be a speed deck so
the cart lady, warehouse, and the guy who gives you gear for cheaper
(can't remember name off hand) will all be a vital part to the deck.
Should I go for guys with fame to back him up, therefore giving me more
money to get stuff out, or should I bring other low-cost runners out who
can also use the gear. Maybe a combination of both?

I know this deck will take some playing to really be effective, but i'm
basically looking for the runner/gear combinations that seem to be most
"cost efficient" for your decks!

Thanks again for your time and brain cells!

Flechette rounds and Armor piercing on Flatline are just plain nasty.
Since only one ammo card can be used per gun, it makes ambidextrous runners
the only ones who can combine ammo cards. The down side is that it is a lot
of cards for the effect. Mr. Black is the gear guy to help with gear for
either cheap or to get that elusive piece. The bonus with contacts is that
once in play they don't clog up the deck anymore and it's rare for them to
be trashed.
Good luck!

I personally like a pair of Beretta's taking Flatline up to a 7/8
(A1). Or there's the pair of Predators that make him a 9/6 (A1) and
let you put your ammo on each for free. For ammo I prefer a Armor
Piercing in one and Flechette in the other. Double damage no matter
what you're shooting at. :o)

Smartlinks aren't bad if you can put them on either, as each will give
you another 2 (his skill) to your damage.

Combo. Sure you're Flatline's have potential to be bad asses, but
they're still only a max of four runners in your deck. There's plenty
of cards like Booby Trap, Incubus, and a well timed Drive By or Riots
that could ruin your day.

For other runnersI'd recommend four Thrashes for the extra money (he
can at least survive a Riots). A few cards of Kromagnus isn't bad for
further backup, he's a 6/7 with athletics and melee, plus you can turn
him for more nu yen if he's not doing anything else. Fill in the rest
with Runners that compliment and fill in skills you won't have with
Flatline, maybe Tink for some tech on those Maglocks, a decker for
some Recon. One or two mages in case your Opponent has a Harley's Game
that a quartet Flatlines may not take. :o)

Not necessarily true:

Extended Clip
Type: Gear
Rarity: Uncommon
Description: Gear/Accessory
Notes: 1¥. Play on any Pistol, Rifle, or SMG. Allows Runner to use 2
types of Ammo in a combat. Only one extended clip may be played on a
weapon.

As I've said before, I think that Flatline is a very undervalued card....

Flatline is the basis for one of my tourny-type decks and has alot of
useful versions. My favorite being:

Flatline+Suddon Goblinatation+2 Berettas+Fletchete Rounds+Armor Peircing
Rounds

18/10 A2 (Armor piercing damage) for 17 newyen. 6+2+2+2+2+3
Sure it's alot to pay but all of these cards can serve a good purpose until
you get out your Flatline (unlike Cyber/Skwaark decks) And in a well made
deck you can get it out cheep. Unlike the decks relying on getting a
extended clip on a single weapon....

I recommend using a couple of Kracker Jacks for their Recon and Pistol
getting abilities, along with Mr. Black and Mr. Johnson....
I tend to use the Kracker Jack's to steal more funds with Sticky Fingers
as well. Nothing like slowing down your opponents deck, while speeding
up your own.... :)

Other useful cards for this deck are: Doc Wagon Platinum for Flatline,
Luck of the Irish and a Lucky Rabbit's Foot to avoid the GAQS's on Flatline
and Grizzly to help absorb damage on a run/provide ammo cheaply.

About Flatline with two Ammo cards. I believe that the only way you can use
two ammo cards in a single combat is with the extended clip. Please read
your ammo cards again as you will see that they say

"Only one type of Ammo can be used in each combat"

Whereas extended clip bypasses that by saying

"Allows Runner to use 2 types of Ammo in a combat"

Two weapons or not Flatline can only use one type of Ammo.

Y'know, maybe it would help if I had the card. Out of sight out of
mind....
Well, it does make the combo easier with flatline and extended clips
together in the deck :)
