hey all,

i'm just full of annoying questions today. i missed the whole
fuchi industries debate, and in the off-chance that the gods of FASA
perform a miracle this christmas and i get one, i had some questions on
its wording/usage.

"instead of going on a shadowrun" so i can visit it instead of going on a
shadowrun, or the deckers just can't go?

i visit during my legwork phase as normal, right?

can more than one group of deckers visit it in a turn? if indeed i'm going
during my legwork phase.

"turn visiting deckers" so that's the total amount of decking as a team
and not a roll for each individual decker?

thanks in advance - joe.

Normally I'd pull my hair out and run screaming from the 'room; however,
I woke up this morning and realized I'm getting a bit too old (and bald)
for that. So, here goes:

Visit instead of going on a shadowrun. (Unlike -nudge- a certain (poke)
person *ahem* around here would like to say.)

> i visit during my legwork phase as normal, right?

I've always played that you do; its more along the lines that it
prevents you from having a shadowrun phase that you visit it during the
shadowrun phase.

> can more than one group of deckers visit it in a turn? if indeed i'm go=
ing
> during my legwork phase.

Nope. You have to give up a shadowrun to visit, and you only have one
shadowrun to give up. (Bulldog Van doesn't work, since the Runners
aren't really shadowrunning, either).

> "turn visiting deckers" so that's the total amount of decking as a team=

> and not a roll for each individual decker?

Yup. Otherwise FJ's the only one who's going to haul your Rep in. =

(Well, maybe Static+Fairlight+Loaded Dice+Wabbit's Foot, but that's an
awful lot for a piddly 5 Rep.)

"Easy Errata version":

Fuchi Industries / Location / 4¥
Hermit Deckers may visit Fuchi Industries. Send a team of Runners to
Fuchi and roll D6 (+1 for each level of Decking): [...] If you visit
Fuchi, you may not make a shadowrun this turn. Use only once per turn.

"Team" is defined as any group of up to six Runners sharing the same
activity - most importantly, on a shadowrun, intercept, or visiting a
Location together (Z-zone, Fuchi). All Runners are considered present
with each other while part of the team. =

Ow! That hurt. Quit poking! I disagree with Matb, and think the card
is entirely clear in saying that deckers turn to visit it instead of
going on a run, not that the player sends deckers instead of sending
anyone on a run. HOWEVER, I agree with Matb and others that the most
BALANCED way of playing Fuchi is to not allow a second shadowrun.

I think that if the deckers do it instead of shadowrunning, it should be
during the shadowrun phase. But, it is more powerful if you can use it
during legwork, since cash becomes available for spending. I can see
this either way, but lean towards the visit being during the shadowrun
phase. What do other people think?

No, you send one wave of deckers, and add their decking skills together,
then roll one die and add the bonus, and get one result for the visit.

To whomever has contact with FASA, could you
ask them for an *official* ruling on Fuchi Industries?
I know there has been conversation about this
card recently, but none of it (to my recollection) was
an 'official' ruling on the card.

Looking at the text, it says:

"One or more deckers (including Hermit Deckers)
may visit Fuchi Industries instead of going on a
Shadowrun".

To me, that says that says Deckers can visit Fuchi
instead of, say, going on a DragonHunt. It doesn't
say anything about other types of runners. And it
also doesn't say "in place of the shadowrun (phase)".
The text on the card is ambiguous and while I do
respect the (pseudo?) rulings/opinions/interpretations
from long time players, I feel that this needs something
coming from the Rules Team.

thnx,
Sorrow

Here are all of the answers from the good folks at FASA regarding Fuchi.
Hope this helps.

Fuchi Industries
Q1: Can say 4 Statics go to Fuchi and then Hatchetman, Scorpio and Skidz go
on a shadowrun on the same turn. The card says that "one or more deckers may
visit Fuchi instead of going on a shadowrun"
A1: The phrasing on the card is bad. A visit to Fuchi takes the place of a
shadowrun. The card makes it sound as though Deckers are the only ones who
can miss the shadowrun, but the intent is that a visit to Fuchi is done
instead of a shadowrun.

Q2: Can you send more than one group of deckers to Fuchi in the same turn,
example send 4 Statics, them 4 Ice Queens in another group, 4 The Moles in a
final group. I think this should be possible because more than 1 runner can
visit other locations like The Iron Lung, Hermetic Library etc….
A2: Because Fuchi takes the place of a shadowrun, you can only go once per
turn.

Q3: When do runners visit Fuchi Industries (during their legwork phase or
shadowrun phase)?
A3: During the shadowrun phase. BUT! this is not actually a shadowrun so
cards that effect shadowruns cannot be played as normal.

Q4: The way Fuchi Industries reads it sounds like 4 Statics can go to Fuchi
together and add all of their Decking together, thus automatically getting
the biggest prize. Is this correct?
A4: Yes. At least until Tempest or something else "waks" those Statics.

These and all of your other questions/answers are available in the SRTCG
Q&A: SRCard's Official Unofficial SRTCG FAQ. Available at my web site,
address in my sig file. (Yes, I am too lazy to type it up right now. :) )

Fuchi Industries.... Can anyone please trade / sell me some of these
things? I could really use one/two/four, and I'm an honest trader, not
only that I'll always send the cards, but that I won't let you screw
yourself on a trade unless you push it upon me.

Thanks...and I'm still trying to figure out this message board
thing...give me another hour or so and I'll have it all figured out.
I'm not an idiot. Really. Probably.

peace be thy path(s),
talos
