On 8-Sep-97 Jim Nelson answered:

1. When you succeed in taking YOUR OWN objective, what happend to your
own challenge cards (ie. that stack that you didn't have to face)? Do
they simply return to your trash pile? Or hang around till next time?

Answer: They go in your trash pile.

2. Does this rule apply to EVERYBODY's objectives? (Shadowrun Phase,
Step 1, Rules pg.56, never states whether or not you can also ignore
your own challenges on your opponents' objectives?)

Answer: Yes. You never face your own objectives unless forced to by a
card.

3. The Crawler Drone allows a player to "Recon for the rest of his
turn." Does this mean that he can look at ALL of the challanges in play
during his turn? Or just one stack? ...or just a single objective's?
...or one card? The wording is kinda vague.

Answer: It gives the drone the Recon special trait (Normally reserved
for Runners). The drone can be used to look at any ONE Challenge card in
play.

4. [Combat Between Runners, "Three or More Runners," Rules pg.68]
Define "pairing up." Is this manditory (ie. each defender must at least
be engaged in a 1:1 battle??)? But what about the rest of my attackers?

For example, I have 6 runners to his 3. Must I set up three 2:1's?
OR Can I do this? 1:1, 1:1, 4:1 (against Skwraaaark, no doubt!)

Answer: See p. 69. After pairing-up, your extra Runners can join
whichever combat you want (in other words, gang up and kick Skwaaark's
metallic ass!)

5. Is Hatchetman a Prime Runner or not? The write-up says he is, but
he has no Upkeep cost.

Answer: There are two Hatchetman cards-- a "normal" Runner and a Prime
Runner (Hatchetman 2057).

6. Also, isn't he supposed to be "UNIQUE?"

Answer: Yep. He is.
[Note, I believe he's referring to the Prime version, only.]
