Hello all Josh here,

Three rules in SRCCG piss off me and my friends, so at my house we change
things around, I know that I am opening myself up to a blatent e-mail
lashing, so as long as it is in good taste I am ready! Bring on your
opinions!

House Rules:

1. If you decide to draw more than ONE card you may STILL gain nuyen from
characters with FAME (not your 4 / turn which is forfit for the cards).

2. When you place chalanges you can place them UNDER or on TOP the old ones.

3. Biotech may be used as a response to a special/stinger. (So Hawkwind
CAN heal herself of damage caused by "Riots" before she dies.)

Again let me re-state that these are my group's house rules, we have a
group of 15 now and getting larger...

So tell me what you think, but remember anything you say can and will be
held against you in the PEOPLE's COURT! +B>

Hey, Josh.

If you're group likes those rules, I say cool, play 'em. I'm sure no one
is going to argue about that here. That's the nice thing about the game.
If you come to a consensus with the people you play with, you can make the
game as challenging in different ways as you want.

Sounds like a pretty brutal game, with 15....

Cheers,

Jon

I'm just wondering what you guys have against strategy and pre-planning.
Do you just enjoy playing excessively long games?

Huh? I don't see what you're asking this question for. These are just some
minor tweakings to the gameplay that make life easier on runners. I don't
see how they go against strategy and pre-planning. Everyone's idea of what
an excessively long game is will be different, no one will enjoy playing
what they consider an excessively long game, but I imagine that I would
enjoy longer games than other people (I am a very patient person). To me it
seems that these rules merely change strategy.

Keep reading to see my thoughts on the house rules.

Interesting. The first couple of games we played we didn't know any better,
and did this anyways. I sort of like this, but it does mildly change
strategies and puts a much higher power to rockers. Just think, if I have
two Glitz, two Thrash in play, I can get for nuyen and fill my hand every
turn! Maybe the best way to implement this would beto put a limit on when
you could fill your hand.

This one I don't like. If you put a hcallenge down, it should be an
irravocable decision. Challenge combos and really good stacks are thus made
harder to build. Without this, Sean's right, pre-planning is diminished.

Hmmm. I don't know, I think that as soon as a runner is dead, they should be
irrevocably so. I remember M:TG's constant "Response" debates, which caused
huge timing issues nad extended discussions.

I was just wondering what are your house rules, those that worked and
those that didn't. For instance, we ruled the following :

Bounty Hunter : We found that this card was too powerful, so a roll of
1-2 means that the BH missed his target. We also tried this : 1-2, no
effect; 3-4, TR is trashed; 5-6, trash BH. Unfortunately, the card
wasn't effective enough and it was too easy to trash BH. We came back to
: 1-2, no effect; 3-5, trash TR; 6, trash BH.

Steamroller : Finding too easy to trash Electrical damage, we boost the
roll to 3+.

Fastjack : We treat this runner as a Human. So this means he is a
suitable target for Sudden Goblinization.

Do you have some comments or interesting house rules ??

I find his special more problematic than his race. 'Round here, we've
tried a) limiting it to looking at one Challenge stack (which changes
things in multi-player) or b) shuffling all the Challenge stacks (which
is equally fun).

We Don't Play with *Ther Z-Zone* It's a confusing card and it turns the game
into a different game.
