Subject: LOTI Timing?

OK, I'm probably making this harder than it needs to be.
I know that SRTCG does NOT have the complex timing that Magic the Gathering
has, but how many times can I attempt to LOTI something before it takes
effect?

Say Bull tries to False Mentor me.
I'm holding 4 LOTI's.
Can I try each one, one at a time, until I either counter his FM, or run out
of cards?
Or do I get one shot, and then suffer the consequences?

Luck O' The Irish
Stinger
0Y
Roll a D6. On a 4+, trash either a special card just played or one
already in play.

Since False Mentor is a Stinger, it doesn't stay in play long enough for
option B ("already in play") to work. Option A allows only one shot
since, once you've played LotI, your opponent has no longer *just*
played False Mentor.

I wonder, however: If you LotI your own LotI.... nah, it'd never
happen.

I would say you can use as many as you need or until you run out of them. I
don't think it is limited to one try per special or at least I don't see
anything in the wording of the card that would limit you to only one try.
Just my humble opinion. :)

I'd say you can keep trying. Why not? That's how we play it…

MHOP-
1) As many times as you have cards. There is no limit as to how many cards
can be played between phases, by you, or anyone else. If there is an
opportunity to react to something, you may attempt to do so as many times
as you have cards that will affect it.

It has always been my understanding that if a card refers to doing something
to a card that was "just played", it has to be done *immediately* after the
card was played.

So, in your example, Bull plays False Mentor.
Since False Mentor was 'just played', you may try one of your LotI's.
Let's assume it fails. You want to try and play another LotI.
But wait! False Mentor was not 'just played'; the card 'just played' was
your first LotI.
Therefore, you cannot attempt to use a second one.

That's my take on it. Your mileage may vary.
