Subject: My "decker-samurai" deck
Date: Mon, 19 Jan 1998 00:36:28 GMT
Hi guys, this is my "deckers-samurais" deck (in fact, it is better to call
it "deckers-hand to hand fighters"
First, I have to tell you English is not my first language, don't be to hard
if you see some mistakes(and i am afraid there will be!)
Second,i pick the idea for this deck in a french magazine, they give a
guideline for the creation of a " Tarantino deck "(also call "why bother to
sleaze it when you can kill it), i have take this idea to create my deck.
This deck is (more or less) tuned for a multiplayer game
(we are always 4 to 6 to play) with a gain of 5 or 6 nuyens each turn (to
give the game more speed),this also explain why there is a little less
chalenges than expected.

So, we have:

Runners: Drake
Fastjack
Glitz
Ice Queen
Kraker Jack
Lord Torgo
Ravage
Scorpio(2x)
Skwaaaaaark (hope i didn't forget an A)
Static
Trash
Gear: Cyberarm(4x)
Hand razors(4x)
Katana(4x)
Monofilament whip
Stun gloves
Uzi III(4x)
Contact: Mr Black(2x)
Mr Johnson(2x)
Location: Ares Macrotechnology
Fuchi Industri
Wharehouse(2x)
Challenge: Hunting gargoyle(3x)
Nets(4x)
Security consultant(4x)
Toxic spirit(4x)
Special(stinger):
Green apple quicksteps(3x)
Luck of the irish(2x)
Whoops!(2x)
Special: Wanted(2x)

How does it work:(where i also explain why i choose these cards)

Runners: They are divided in 2 groups ( I suppose everybody seen that)
The decker are the "prep." group, they made recon and bring back money from
Fuchi (Fastjack can also help in case of maglocks, but i never throw him in a
run without the bodygards)
The other are the "op" runners, all of them have stamina (maximum power all
the way) and they have a good variety of skills)

Gears: H2H weapons and some cyberware,i hope there will be more H2H weapons
in "Underworld", so i can replace the cyberware ( yesterday i loose lord
torgo due to cyberpsychosis, and he only have one hand razors)

Contact:They speak by themselve.

Location: (hope cherybomb is not near)
Ares can give a boost to the runners(or cause them some troubles, in which
case it is better to stay home)
Fuchi can give you nuyens(can sometime fill your hand each turn) or your
missing rep. points
The warehouse is useful for cards you cannot play at once.

Challenges:the guy i play with have habitually deck full of big runners with
big weapons who eat a "gardian dracoform" for breakfeast, so i prefer
hunting gargoyle(not as hard, but you don't earn point for defeating
them),the toxic spirit is good and not easy to sleaze, the nets can send
back home more than half the runners and the security consultant, well, better
his runners than mine.

Special (stinger):
GAQ is always usefull (get one of my man out of trouble, or put some of my
opponent's runner in.),never get out without "luck of the irish
(cyberpsychosis, wanted,..) and Whoops! can save the day.

Special:i have 2 wanted if i am short of a few rep. (or if Cherrybomb show
if face.)

If you have anything to say about this deck, it is welcome

probably put in a few more runners, even
if this increases the size of your deck. Big guys with large melee skill
would probably be beneficial. I'm somewhat partial to "Bam Bam" or
adding extra skwaaaaaaarks (if you are lucky enough to have more than
one)!

Hope this is helpful,
