I like the introduction of the racial variations, but I'm wondering
if they are going to come into play with future cards. I like it as
flavor text, but it could end up leading to some cards that will be
very limited in use.

Louie Da' Bruiser
How does his special ability work? Is he basically A3 to start with if
he is not using any gear/armor?

Skitz
Does his ability effectively negate Wild Goose chase played on a
shadowrunning team he is in? It is after all a card effect that would
send him home....

Shouldn't Shriek 1000 and The Brain have 0/1 threat ratings?

Is switchblade the next Remington 750? Katana's are much better
and are not Rare....

Black Credstick, Poison and Spell Lock are niffty.

If Acid Mist or Poor Craftsmanship destroy cyberware does the Runner get
the Essence back?

Can the Wind Spirit be used during combat before damage is dealt?

Why would you want to use the Coffin Hotel instead of Club Vortex or
Shadowland?

Can Leo's Pawnshop buy gear for more then it's deployment cost?

The Leo/passkey combo could be rather abusive....

Does 911 take effect befor the combat is resolved or after?

Can you used a Better Offer to take control move the gear to one of
your runner and then refuse to pay the upkeep? THus stealing the
gear for 4 nuyen. Or do you need to pay the 1Y if you can afford it.

I'll post some more latter....

At the moment, it's just flavor text. I *really* can't see any card
being so gauche as to target, say, all Oni/Ork Runners in play -- that's
just too small a niche.

Until he gets Whoops!ed. Great guy to stick Skillsofts on.

Sho' seems that way. My guess is it should be any effect that targets
Skitz specifically (whather it be GAQS, Elite Security Mage, or what
have you.)

> Shouldn't Shriek 1000 and The Brain have 0/1 threat ratings?

No. :)

Unless you're playing Gangers; then the element of surprise can come in
handy. (Incidentally: Can Switchblade/Palm Pistol be played as
Stingers, even when the Runner is already using Gear? Methinks not,
but....)

> Black Credstick, Poison and Spell Lock are niffty.

Black Credstick is a bit dangerous. What you need is.. is.. Leo's
Pawn Shop! Score a few extra nuyen, and then pawn the bloody thing
before it frags you.

Poison's really cool, though I think Cement Shoes rock even harder.
T'be honest, Shuriken seem like a much better deal than Poison is - less
damage, but no drawbacks. Both are evil when you consider the
possibilities riased by Gutter Rat and the Squatter.

This is a long over-due question, first raised with the Smartgun Link.

> Can the Wind Spirit be used during combat before damage is dealt?

Generally speaking, no Stinger or stingerish effects can be played then,
so I'd imagine not.

> Why would you want to use the Coffin Hotel instead of Club Vortex or
> Shadowland?

Because they *stay* there. (Remember that long discussion about
"present"? Here's the result.) Now the Runner's immune to Time-Delayed
Bombs, among other effects.

> Can Leo's Pawnshop buy gear for more then it's deployment cost?

Since it has a minimum of 1Y, yeah. Leo likes Streetline Specials.

> The Leo/passkey combo could be rather abusive....

> Does 911 take effect befor the combat is resolved or after?

"just engaged" makes it sounds like its past tense - in other words,
after it's said and dead. Er, done. :)

ERRR - this is one card I wish had been rejected from the set. Don't
need any Control Magics. (I would've at least turned the Merc as a
result of being moved.)

Then again, it makes a nice Trojan Deck: Steal a Merc, pop a Cortex Bomb
on him, and then return him. Then Poison him.

But yeah, it makes it seem like you can steal the Gear. Answer: Only
play Mercs and Cyberware.

Oooh - Cherry Bomb. That's evil.

Looking forward.

They could play them, they just would probably be better off using their
other gear instead. ;)

I see you see what I was thinking. Pay 1Y to earn 1Y at the start of
your next turn, then sell it for D6-1 Y.... I also like the Pay 0Y for
the passkey, sell it for D6-1 Y and then buy it back next turn for 0Y.
Start repeating the process the next turn....

I really like the 1-6 chance to frag a Runner. ;) The worst thing that
can happen is I need to pay for the Runner and Poison again...

Actually if you engage in a fight at a Bar, you usually are stopped
before someone is killed.... ;) Then again I guess Lord Torgo could
kill Static well before the cops arrive...

Yep, alot of my favorite Runners are Mercs....

Now some new ones:

Do the Razor heads get Switchblades and Katanas for free? Or is the
card supposed to read 1Y minimum....

State of COnfusion is just a great card! Sure it doesn't work that well
against Wild Goose Chases and various shadowrun specials, but it will
come in handy.

Suicidal Tendencies and Holmes looks to be a great combo....

Can Test of Honor be Bad Reputationed? After all they do give the
challenged runner a way out.

Lone Star K9 Unit seems kind of overpriced... Plus can you make the damage
armor-piercing without paying the first fee?

Widow's Trap is a wonderful Challenge.

As is the Yakuza Assassin...

Over all I loved the set. And I can't wait to play with my new
Yakuza deck....

My take on it is to play it as written. It seems to balance out with
the others (Ancients is *well* worth the money, while Trogs is not...)
What they need is a Special that works when you have a Gang HQ in play.
Hmm, the possibilities...

> Can Test of Honor be Bad Reputationed? After all they do give the
> challenged runner a way out.

I assume that if the targeted Runner backs out, the attack was never
made; but once they go into R-on-R combat, Bad Rep is opened up.

This one's not very well worded - "must fight" doesn't seem to allow for
backing out of it.

> Lone Star K9 Unit seems kind of overpriced... Plus can you make the
> damage armor-piercing without paying the first fee?

It's a nice safety valve for when you bump into your own Challenge (via
Security Consultants), though. Hmm - it's not, technically, a 'pumper'
Challenge, so the Fat Man can't touch it..

But you're right, far too over-priced, and it's not like Lone Star has a
lot of financial support (unlike the Mafia - Shakedown, brrr!)

Has anyone noticed that The Docks doesn't give you any Y the first time
you use it?

And you know it, baby.

Cool! I've passed some of these along to Jim/Skuzzy so we can get
something for the SRCard Q7A.
