I am very new to this list. I played the CCG from the first release
through the first expansion but bought very little from then on. When
FASA dropped the game I drifted away. Can anyone fill me in on
developments since then like tournament action and player-created card
sets? In case you hadn't heard, FASA has been bought by Decipher (or
soon will be once the paperwork in finished). Official word from
Decipher is that they will look at all properties over the next few
months. It might help to drop a line to Decipher and show support for
the CCG. Thanks.

There really hasn't been much tourney action that I've heard about, and
someone else can better tell you about the player created cards, since I
didn't keep very good track of them. There's been around 5 serious
net.expansions done.

It would be cool if Decipher brought back SRTCG, but I'm more concerned
about FASAs other properties..

This could be really good for the Shadowrun card game (if FASA's lack of
support hasn't done irreparable damage). Since FASA already has the Corp
War expansion ready to go to the printers, we could see new cards soon
after the sale is complete.

Wasn't Decipher the same company involved with the Star Wars expansions?
If I remember correctly, wasn't there a big uproar about the 'Bespin'
expansion involving 180 rare cards, 180 uncommon, and 200 common (the
numbers might be off, but they were close in number overall) and each pack
had ~only~ one rare? So the possibility if by-chance each pack had a
different rare card had to have the customer by at least 3 boxes?

Then again, this sounds similar to the first edition.
