Hi all,

Does anyone know if there is any place where I can buy sets of Promo Cards? It seems that
there are 10 promo cards between the basic set and the expansion and I would be interested
in getting them if possible.

Thanks!

Justin

Not including the German-only promos, there are two sets of promos, one
from Limited Edition and one from Underworld. For the record, these promos
are:

Limited Edition Promos
----------------------
Adam Bomb
Flatline
Foxy Roxy
Fuchi Industries
Hatchetman 2057
Maglock Passkey
Nerps!

Underworld Promos
-----------------
Genetics Lab
King of the Hill
The Skills to Pay the Bills

I do not know any place to buy either set of promos. Normally you see them
for sale as singles. Hatchetman 2057 was recently for sale on Ebay, but
that auction is over. I suggest you check there periodically.

Another way to get a set of promos is to trade for them. Post a trade list
here with both wants and haves and see if anyone can help you out.
Personally, I have an extra Genetics Lab I would trade for the right card
or cards. Send me a trade list and we'll see if we can work something out.

If you let me know which promos you are looking for I am sure I have extras.
I sent this to the list intentionally in case anyone else is looking for any
SR promos.

Was the Maria Mercurial card ever actually released? I was under the
impression none were ever printed.

I don't think it was ever printed. It was rumored to be a Promo for 2nd
Run. Since there was no 2nd Run......

Coolness. I was just asking to see if there was a source for promos. I don't actually
have any cards yet (give me 2 weeks and I'll have tons). It seems obvious now that
they're only available via trade, etc.

So, when I get my cards and sort through them I will post all the extras I have and what I
want (all promos or some rares I didn't get, etc.) It's too bad there isn't an easier way
to get promos (I'm buying cards for a closed set with enough for 2 or more people to build
decks without too much of an overlap problem which would mean 2 or more copies of promos.
Yeah, right.)

Thanks for the information!

Something to keep in mind when hunting for promo cards: most were released
in magazines (the exception being, I think, NERPS).

Unfortunately, I don't have a list handy. I think Lady Jestyr had a listing
on her website, though.

Through a lot of hard work and trading of old Magic cards/promos I have some
extras of the Shadowrun promos. I have been sending out lists for offers,
but the offers vary dramatically from person to person. About what should I
ask for promo cards. How many Rares should equal a promo?
The promos I have are:
Foxy Roxy (2)
Maglock Passkey
Hatchetman 2057 (2)
Are they each valued differently?

To those people on this list that I have already sent a confirmation of
trade to I will not change the trade if I promised it already nobodys
response will change my trade with you no matter what. I am just doing this
for future trades.

In general there are no hard and fast prices for any SR card. I like it
that way, and hope they never do put out a price guide for the cards (Yeah,
right, like that'll happen). The cards have different values to different
people, and are often traded as such,,,

However, in general, the standard seems to be 3 rares to a promo. This may
vary depending on whether or not the promo was available easily in a
persons area or not. Flatline was impossible to find around here, as was
Fuchi and hatchet, so all are worth more to me than Maglock or Foxy, since
both were in abundance here. <Shrug>

But the 3 to 1 seems like a fair and fairly standard ratios

I don't have any to trade, but if you are willing to pay cover price for
the Shadis card (Skills to pey the Bills) and $3.00 for the Scrye card
(Genetics Lab), I can still get those issues for you. I need to know if
anyone wants the Shadis magazine by Friday. That's when the order has to
be in. Also, let me know how many of each you want and send me a check
for the total ammount to:
Sean Overton

As soon as I get your check, I'll send off the magazines or cards and
magazines, whichever you want.

Real quick, as you can see above, your mailer is tagging on an html duplicate
of your message. Could you check into that, and set it to send plain text
only? Thanx!

Now, as to the promos. A number of us have been able to send an SASE to FASA
and get copies of the available promos.

I can't guarantee this as an avenue to get the past promos. It's just worked
in the past. Also, not all the promos are still available through FASA. I know
for a fact that Hatchetman 2057 is wiped out in their archives.

I may have and extra or two of some of the promos. I'll make it a point to get
those haves/wants lists updated by this weekend. Let me know if you have
trouble tracking any of them down. Foxy Roxy or Nerps may be a possibility on
my end.

BTW I noticed by your sig that you're at U of A. If you ever get down to the
Phoenix area, give me a shout. I'm sure Tony Glinka and I could throw together
a game with a fellow SRCarder. ;o)

If you've got stuff to trade, some people around here have got some
extras. If you have to buy them, ask around the list and/or check out
an online auction site.

I don't think I would be allowed to graduate from ASU if it was found out that I
had dealings with someone from the U of A. It's in the grad school guidelines I
think. :)
Go Sun Devils!

All kidding and school rivalries aside I would be up for a game. Besides I think
Loki and I are sick of looking at each other's decks. :)
