Subject: Question: HideAway Location

Me and my group have a question about the Hideaway. This card just seems
too good to be true. As far as I can tell, if you have a runner with
street, you can get everything free (one per round). Is this how it is
generally played? Sorry, don't have the card in front of me right now,
but it says something to the effect of up to four of any type of card may
be placed in the Hideaway. Turn a runner with street to recieve one card
from the Hideaway.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Brett

Slight difference in wording: *retrieve*, not receive. The actual
spoiler text is:

THE HIDEAWAY / Location (Street) / 2Y
You may place up to 4 cards of any type into the Hideaway at no cost
during your Legwork phase. No more than 4 cards can be stored here at
one time. Turn a Runner with Streetwise during your Legwork phase to
retrieve a card.

Basically, it's a way around trashing your entire hand: If, say, your
opening hand was four Weapons and the Hideaway - but no Runners - you
could toss the Hideaway down, and then put the four Gear cards
underneath it. This would let you retrieve them once you get a Runner
into play (well - once you get a Runner with Street) but you'd still
have to pay the cost for them; retrieved cards go into your hand, not
into play.

It'd be nicer if the cards could be retrieved at any time, since then
you could make a nice, tacit threat by laying a Bad Reputation or False
Mentor underneath, just waiting to be drawn out. Ah well. Can't have
everything!

Actually, The Hideaway requires a runner with Street-2. As far as I can
remember, only Lord Torgo and Sam the Sleuth have this, which means that
getting stuph phrom The Hideaway can be extremely difficult, and, not really
worth it, as far as I can tell.

Hmm. My copy reads "turn a Runner with Streetwise to..." No indication
of skill level needed.
The Brandenburg Gate (German promo) requires Street-2, and simply isn't
worth it.

Since it costs nothing to use, the Hideaway can also be used to turn
four of your Runners, if you're expecting an attack by way of the
Z-zone. Of course, it can only turn Runners with Streetwise. But I'd
expect a deck packing a Hideaway or two to have Runners prepared to do
the job - there are enough Runners with the skill that you can put
together a pretty good deck.

Just wondering where in the world you get street-2 from the card text, is
this an addition?

I'm sorry, my memory failed me here. I could have sworn I saw that
somewhere. I checked my spoiler list, and I was wrong, so, I appologize. It
does make me wonder why I havn't seen it in more decks. Free stuph is always
cool.
