Not nearly as exciting....

1. Can a (previously) turned runner (say Ice Queen used her ability
then...) use a program? (excepting when on a shadowrun)
1.1 Can a turned runner (as in previous example) use a program to aide a
shadowrun in progress (that they are not on)?

2. Is it clear (yet) what 'running without being present' rules there are?

3. Is the 'no challenge/mulligan' rule supposed to work that each player
gets a reshuffle/redraw per mulligan?
3.1 ...and that previous reshuffles/redraws (due to another's mulligan) can
be found to yield no challenges so you may mulligan again?

4.the squatter can be used to get as many cards as you can afford/declare 1
time during your turn?

(opinion section)
5. The most cost effective card?(excluding challenges of course)

Maglock Passkey
Thrash
Wild Goose Chase
Foxy Roxy
Static
???

I can't think of any deck that I wouldn't put at least 3 Thrash's in...

Yes...a decker can use a # of programs up to their skill

IMHO...no...the decker counts towards the people on the shadowrun...so you
would have to turn him to go on the run.

>3. Is the 'no challenge/mulligan' rule supposed to work that each player

No...only one....anyone can choose whether to reshuffle...and the person
who has it has to show all of his\her cards to prove it.

No...one reshuffle.

Bingo....you can pull as many cards as you want....you just have to declare
how many cards you want to get.

Squatter- I have used him as a game stopper to pull old challenges out and
place them, yea...it does cost 5 to get them out...but I have found him
very worth while.

Lucky Wabbits Foot- has saved my butt several times.

Nerps!-Mimics any gear card...oh yea.

Everyone please note this is the opinion section of this....not the bash
people cause you don't agree with them section.

I've always (yes, Teos, always) played that a turned Runner can't do
anything after being turned, including using Gear. Hawkwind's choice,
for instance, is to heal her chummers or protect her butt with a Nature
Spirit.

This stems from the fact that most innate abilities are a lot more
powerful than the Programs (and Spells, and Spirits). Also, an innate
ability, with a few exceptions, is playable at any time, so could always
be played after any Gear-generated effects.

Nope. A Decker can only use programs that affect a shadowrun that he's
assisting in.

> 2. Is it clear (yet) what 'running without being present' rules there are?

I haven't heard back from Mike or Jim yet. I suspect this might make
its way into the Second Run rulebook, though.

Nope. "A Bad Shuffle can only be declared once," RBT, p. 48.

After a fashion. You pay 5Y for each card you want to draw out of the
trash, but you can only pay this cost once. (So if you want four cards,
you pay 20Y as a flat fee.) You can't, however, play a card with a
self-trashing effect (...like Astral Sense, the only one I can think of
atm...) several times by playing it, trashing it, paying off Squatter,
playing it, trashing it, paying off Squatter, and so on.

Most cost-effective.. hunh. Relies too much on context. There are
decks (Ruin the Nuyen!) that practically rely on Static, others in which
he's toast (like, any deck with a Riots in it, or Tempest). False
Mentor definitely works its way into the most decks, however.

I have to agree with Matb. Context is key. In some decks, the 2 Nuyen
for a Baretta is _so_ cost effective. In other decks and strategies, an
Uzi, with burst fire, is the weapon of choice. In a deck with everyone
having gunnery, other weapons become cost effective. Clearly, I have
some favorites (why use Cannonball when you have a Scorpio, for
instance, unless you need Cannonball's race or the skill for your deck).
Other runners that I see as cost effective are Dante, Thrash, Macabre
(for Skills, like Tempest), Scarecrow, Wishbone, Ice Queen, and Skag (if
the stench doesn't bug you). Again, these depend on what skills you need
in a deck. Generally, when building a deck I think of a theme and then
select lots of cards that at least loosely fit that theme. Then I
decide on how closely I want to stick to that theme (strictly mages for
a mage deck, vs. throwing some warriors in a mage deck, for example). I
then order all the chosen cards by strength, and try to choose the best
cards from different ranges (a few tough guys, a few cheapies, etc.). I
match skills and abilities like Stamina as I go.

Teos.
