I've usually traded 3 rares per promo. Individual trades and offers of course
vary, but that has usually been my asking price.

Loki's right, as it really depends a) how bad you want the card, and b) how
bad the person with the promo wants the card you have.

If there's a card that I can't get for any reason, or I have a lot of
promos, I've done two-for-one and one-for-one. It's a matter of demand.
Sounds like the King Of The Hill has been a downright pain to get (we're
still waiting for our InQuest issues here) so I could imagine the asking
"price" would be a bit higher.

Also keep in mind: Just because someone asks for 4 cards, doesn't mean you
can't counter offer. If I ask for something that a person feels
unreasonable, I hope they will make a counter and we can continue to
negotiate from there. I might not want to budge, dependant on the card.
On the other hand, I might say "okay, it's not that big of deal....."

Good luck,

Jon

I've got 2 King of the hills and get lots more if anybody wants. Inquest has
a high readership here, actually I think it's the best selling of all the
game mags. Almost every one I know buys IQ whether he/she plays M:tG, L5R,
Btech or whatever other games there are out there. So I usually can get IQ
promos easily....
However I don't get Shadis here...
I don't particularly find KotH a fantastic promo especially since it's
unique. So I'll trade it for 1 rare.
