I'm going to make a simple request. This is my opinion, but I'm sure others
agree.

1. Please don't make insulting comments about anyone. The person making the
insult always looks worse.

2. When someone insults you, or otherwise ticks you off, please resist the
immature reaction to tell everyone on the list about it. I have objected to
people's e-mails dozens of times, and except for this one post, have never
made those complaints public. Why? I don't need to waste your time with
what I think about an off-topic post. Off-topic responses create more
off-topic responses. We can assume that you accurately defended your
maleness or femaleness offline. We don't need to actually witness the
defense itself. (And to be honest, 99% of the time, I have seen some really
unimaginative defenses.)

3. Please, please keep SRTCG alive. If we can't even work together, well,
this game is doomed. If we spent half as much energy on working together as
we spend arguing over how this list can run...

4. Think about why this list gets off topic. Prime reasons are that
someone insulted someone, or that someone posted off-topic garbage. if you
religiously adhere to A) not insulting anyone, B) posting only about the
game, and C) changing your subject line to match what you are talking about,
then maybe this list would not have such a low signal to noise ratio.

I care a lot about this list, but it's easy to see why this list can loose
subscribers.

That's my rant, it is up to you to decide whether you have the maturity to
keep your arguments offline and to stick by the list rules. I challenge
you, because I know you can't do it. PLEASE RESPOND, IF YOU MUST, ONLY BY
PERSONAL MAIL.

To make up for my breaking my personal code, I have spent some time atoning
and making new card ideas. I will send them in a separate e-mail so people
won't reply using this same subject header.

Peace,

Teos.

Um...I'm mostly an observer on this list, but out of the dozen or
so list that I've been on, when people start griping about off-topic
post, the list usually goes down hill from there.

This isn't a very busy list and as long as you clearly state in your
subject line that it's off-yopic, then I don't see why it's such a big
deal.

I don't see a problem with the list. We had one person who is a
little immature make some comments about why he wants to moderate his
own list, but other than that I don't think it's as bad as you make it
out to be.

Besides, what he did post, was on-topic and he had a right to voice
his opinion of this list. Maybe worded better, but....

Again, i don't see the big deal about off topic post. We don't have
that many post. Maybe on the RN list where there is 100+ post a day,
it could matter, but not here. If it's just flames your speaking about
then sure, they don't belong here.

I doubt it's from off-topic post. Actually for every one flame
post, there are 3 of you to complain about it. I think anyone on a
list knows all about flames and they've learned to avoid those
threads. They don't need a "list etiquette" post every other day.
Those are annoying.

Um...no. This is the problem. This is a discussion list. Sure, it's
for discussion of the game, but if you bring out a topic, then expect
it to be discussed on the list. What you're saying is that you have
the right to post this off topic thread, but our replies don't have
the same merit as your post ,so we have to do it off list.

Hmm...who rights these rules to determine what is off topic and
what is on topic?

I don't think imaginary cards do anything to help me with the game.
They are not a part of the game, to me these are useless post. Now to
others, they may be interesting post. This is the nature of a
discussion list. You dont' see me telling people they're not allowed
to post fantasy cards do you?
