I sat down the other night and threw together a set of rules so my cards
would quit collecting dust and start becoming more than pretty pieces of
cardboard. To whoever reads these, please give me some input, i tried to
create these rules as a way to test a deck also.

<Setup.>
Create 4 decks
1. A deck 30-40 cards, of Runners, Gear, contacts, specials and locations
2. A deck 20-30 cards, of Challenges and specials
3. A deck of 6 Objectives
4. A deck 15-20 cards, of Runners, Locations, Contacts and Gear

deck 1-The player's deck, used to go on shadowruns and other such drek
deck 2-The challenges and specials that the player will encounter on a
shadowrun
deck 3-the objectives that the player will run against
deck 4-the runners that the team will face (used for things like runners
on retainer and other such cards)

note: I took two decks(we'll call them A and B)(both of which I created to
play against other people), I took all the Runners, Gear, Contacts,
Locations and passive specials (specials and stingers that are meant to
affect my own runners) from the deck A and created deck number 1 with
those cards. The remaining Challenges and specials (specials and stingers
that are meant to affect my opponent) and created deck number 2. My
objectives from deck A made up deck number 3 (Obviously). And then I just
took the Runners, Gear, contacts and locations from deck B and created
deck number 4.

Draw seven cards from deck number 1 and put 4 nuyen on your credstick.
Put 1 nuyen in your oponent's credstick (this will be explained later).
Place the decks on the table like this

4ED
D3 2D
1PD
(#=corresponding deck, E=enemy's credstick, P=Player's credstick,
D=corresponding discard pile)

<Play>
1. Enemy Phase
-Unturn all Enemy's cards
-place Challenges on a revealed Objective
-Add 1 nuyen to the enemy's credstick or draw one card from deck 4
and put it into play on the enemy's side at no cost.
2. Objective Phase
-Play or Reveal an Objective
3. Credstick Phase
-Add 4 nuyen to Player's Credstick or Draw cards to fill hand to 7
4. Refresh Phase
-Unturn all Players cards
-Draw a card
5. Legwork Phase
-Deploy Runners, Contacts, and Locations
-Swap Gear between Runners
-Play Gear on a Runner
-Use a Contact or Location
-Play a Special Card
6. Shadowrun Phase
-Resolve a Shadowrun
7. End Phase
-Discard (at least down to 7)
-Put a time token on a revealed objective
-Declare your turn is finished

<Rules>
1. & 6. Enemy Phase & the Shadowrun Phase
-Place Challenges on a revealed Objective
Place cards from deck 2 in this fasion
[objective] [card from deck 2]
[card from deck 2]
[card from deck 2]
[card from deck 2]

The cards underneath the objective are the challenges that the player will
face on a shadowrun. Treat nonchallenges as bluffs as normal.

The card next to the objective is revealed at the start of the shadowrun,
if it is a special or stinger and the enemy has enough nuyen to pay for
the card, play the card against your shadowrun team, remember to follow
all rules on the card (make sure if a drive by is revealed and the enemy
does not have a runner with piloting). Trash the card if the enemy cannot
pay for the special, a challenge is revealed or it simply doesn't make
sense for the enemy to play the card (use your own judgement).

After each challenge is revealed, if the challenge is pumpable and the
enemy has enough nuyen on its credstick to pay for the pumpable cost, then
do so.

7. End Phase
-Put a time token on a revealed objective
if there are five time tokens on an objective, the game is over and you
lose.

Well, what do you think? I've only played this way a few times, but it
seemed to work alright, obviously all cards won't help all the time. And
it's a solitaire game so the only person you're cheating is yourself.
Suggestions? later...
