I was wondering what happened.

Sorry guys, but our Net administrators have been rather busy
installing new software, TFS if that says anything to someone.
It has provisions for greater security and managing of outgoing and
ingoing traffic.

They didn't realise however that the default of the program is to
shut off the SMTP port all together.
So I've been cut off for about 14 hours.
Again sorry, it was a screw-up by our administrator, but they've fixed it.
