I have a question. On a particular gear card. Switchblade says

+x/+0 to user. X= Melee of user. May be played as a stinger. (here is my
problem, what do they mean by switchblade can be played as a stinger?) I
understand what special stingers do, but not gear card stingers. I have seen
a couple other cards that also have the same text.

Basically you can play the card as if it were a Special/Stinger. If you
play the card this way, it only lasts for that turn, like a normal STinger
would.

Probably the Walther Palm Pistol (the only one I can think of off the
top of my head). Stingers -- whether they have the 'Gear' border or the
'Special' border -- can be played at any time. That's all it means.
Nothing fancy. :)
