Ok, so maybe I am totally brain dead. I thought this would be a good
card for my "Above the Law" deck and here I am reading it and it
sounds like I should play it on my opponent's runner? The reason I
say that is because I see no reason why I would play it on one of
mine?

Poison is played on your own runner. When you turn your runner to use
Poison, there is a small chance that you will have to return your runner
and his gear to your hand. However, the chances are greater that you'll do
damage to the target runner or even trash the target runner.

The way it works is the following: You play it on your own Yakuza
Runner. Then you turn him, trash the Poison, and roll D6. On 4-5, you
select an opponentīs Runner and give him damage, and on 6+, heīs
trashed. The 1 simply means that your Runner got caught trying to use
the Poison and gets punished for it. ---Felix
