Hi folks...
During a little tournament on the weekend the following question occured:
I used a Wanted on one of my opponents runners and sent Cherry Bomb with a
Katana and a Cortex Bomb - she turned and attacked the target runner.... So
far so good. But what now? According to the rulebook the target runners
whiles away time in his safehouse when Cherry arrives - of course I chose a
target runner who would kill her in combat and thus the Cortex Bomb went
off. All the other runners in my opponents safehouse should now also be
affected, right? So all his Thrashs and weak elven deckers got wacked...
Unfortunately this had been the decisive move of the whole game and my
friend and I argued for some time whether the Cortex Bomb might affect all
other present runners (I argued that if he had had a bodyguard in his
safehouse he would also be able to let that one take the damage intended for
someone else - so if it is possible to interfere with a bodyguard, a Cortex
Bomb should therefore affect all unturned runners in my opponent's safehouse)..
Hope you can help me to figure this out!

Thanks,
Jens P.

Sorry, You´re wrong here. The Wanted!´s target Runner is no longer in
the safehouse when he´s attacked. The Rulebook states that Runners leave
the safehouse for a fight and return to the safehouse when the fight is
over. The Cortex Bomb wouldn´t help you much unless the attacked Runner
is much much bigger than Cherry. ---Felix

Ok, thanks - but is it true that my opponent could have a bodyguard
intercept my "bounty hunter", so that my runner won't be able to fight
the target runner but rather his bodyguard outside the safehouse? I
don't think so, because if I remember correctly, you can only turn the
bodyguard in order to take some damage (but the guard cannot afflict any
on the attacker) - but if the target runner and my runner fight outside
the safehouse, my opponent couldn't use any guards to take the damage,
right (because they are still in the safehouse)??

The group I play with uses house rules that differ from the official line.
In our games, the Wanted runner is in the safehouse, so a Cortex Bomb or
Adam Bomb effects everyone in the safehouse. This is one of the strategies
I built my "Face the Music" deck on. I built an all-rocker deck with Adam
Bombs, Cortex Bombs, and Wanteds in it to cripple my opponents'
nuyen-producing runners. I know such a deck is cheesy, but I was tired of
the big bully decks walking all over my mage and shaman decks.

A bodyguard can only protect Runners present with it. See rulebook for
Guard trait definition. ---Felix

Using house rules is one way to deal with bully decks - I choose to wait
for Corp Wars for usable strategies. It is possible to build a deck to
beat bullies, but that won´t help you in tourney play against many
different decks. A working anti-bully deck needs to either steal all the
money or kill the trolls as soon as they come into play.
