Turning to heal damage is a specific action; a card doesn't heal damage
whenever it's turned, just when it's turned to be healed.
Example: Hawkwind (3/2 shaman with Biotech) and her Nature Spirit (6/6,
outdoors) come back from a run with 1 point of damage each.
Hawkwind can turn to:
= heal another runner using Biotech;
= turn to heal herself completely;
= turn herself and the spirit to heal the spirit completely.
= turn to give the spirit to another Conjuror (who also has to turn)
= turn to visit a location during Legwork
For the last two, however, no-one nowhere gets healed because of her
turning.
If she chooses no to turn to heal (for whatever reason) the damage stays
until she is healed (by herself, by someone else). this is one of the
reasons the Heal spell is so kickin' -- only the spell turns, not the
mage.
