1.A What is SRCARD?
SRCARD stands for Shadowrun Trading Card Game, which made it's debut
at Gen Con in August of 1997. Foretelling an increase in traffic on
SHADOWRN, another list, dedicated to the card game, was created.

1.B How do I subscribe to SRCARD?
To subscribe, you must send a control message to the list processor
at LISTPROC.ITRIBE.NET. To do this, send an email with the following:

TO: LISTSERV@********.ITRIBE.NET
SUB: <leave blank>
1st line: SUBscribe SRCARD <your real name>

In a little while you should get email that you have to respond to,
to confirm your subscription to the list. Reply to that as instructed,
after which you should begin getting regular postings.

1.C How do I post to SRCARD?
To post to SRCARD, you send your posting via email to
SRCARD@********.ITRIBE.NET. Make sure that you have read the Posting
Guidelines portion of this FAQ before you post to the list. (Failure to
do so will result in being thwapped. ;o)

1.D How do I unsubscribe to SRCARD?
To unsubscribe, you must send a control message to the list processor
at listproc.itribe.net. To do this, send email with the following:

TO: listserv@********.itribe.net
SUB: <leave blank>
1st line: UNSUBscribe SRCARD

In a little while you should get email confirming your unsubscription
request.

1.E Other Important LISTSERV-LITE Commands.
There are many commands you can give to the listserv in order to
change how your subscription works. (Replace listname with SRCARD, in
this case.)

REView listname
This command will ask the listserv to send you what your subscription
options are at that point in time. (Very good to use as a test/ping
message)

SET listname REPRO
This command will have the listserv include you in the distribution
of any posting you make (i.e., you get your own things back, too).
To stop receiving your own posts: SET listname NOREPRO

SET listname ACK
This is simply a confirmation of the posting you just made in the
form of an email saying 'Your post was successfully distributed to XXX
people.'
To stop receiving confirmations: SET listname NOACK

SET listname NOMAIL
Will halt your receiving of postings. You will still be able to send
messages to the list. Set This if you are going away for a couple days,
and think your mail quota might be exceeded. (If your mail quota is
exceeded, there is an excellent chance you will return to find yourself
no longer on the list.)
To resume getting posts: SET listname MAIL

SET listname DIGEST
When this option is set, instead of all of the postings being
delivered separately, they will be delivered in one mailing at the close
of the day (in ITRIBE's time zone). This is helpful if the number of
mailings become a burden, also another way to reduce the volume of
mailings. (But not size.)
To resume receiving separate postings: SET listname MAIL

HELP
Sending this command will give you a listing and brief descriptions
of all available commands.

1.F Why am I getting deleted from the list for no reason?
99% of the time, the reason you are deleted from the list (by the
listowner) is for some reason mail is bouncing off of your account.
Usually this is caused by one of two reasons. Either A) your account
is filled and can't hold any more or B) for some reason your account is
not available (either the machine or your account is down). Once the
problem has been fixed (you are back on the net or have room), you are,
of course, free to join the list again.

1.G HELP! Mail from the list has stopped coming!
Mail has an annoying characteristic in that, while most of the time
it is instantaneous, there are times when it can take up to two weeks to
go from one computer to another that is located ten feet away (much like
snail mail, eh?). If mail suddenly suddenly stops coming, very likely a
link is down between you and the list, and as soon as that link comes
back up, you will get all of the old mailings.
A good thing to try before posting to the list that nothing is
coming, is the 'REV SRCARD' command to the listserv. This way you'll get
a response right away if the ITRIBE machines are up, and you won't annoy
the list members with 'test' messages.

Disclaimer

These messages were posted a long time ago on a mailing list far, far away. The copyright to their contents probably lies with the original authors of the individual messages, but since they were published in an electronic forum that anyone could subscribe to, and the logs were available to subscribers and most likely non-subscribers as well, it's felt that re-publishing them here is a kind of public service.
