Are you absolutely sure about this, Loki? I'm not saying you're wrong.
(I have no idea one way or the other.) But, so far, SRTCG has been really
"un-Magic"-ish with its timing rules. While you can respond to events
in Magic with all SORTS of stuff (interrupts, instants, card tap abilities,
etc.), SRTCG really seems to be "discrete" in most of its approaches.
Basically, you establish what's going on/first and then it resolves. Of
course, there are specific cards (Luck of the Irish) that allow one to
specifically respond to certain cards/events, but that hasn't been a
universal rule.

My initial impression (wrong or right) has been that once the challenge
card is flipped up, there are darn few options available (if any) except
to face the the challenge. After all, if you're in a firefight with
a basilisk, just how will having the sh*ts help you? :-)
