AFAIK, Loki is. When a reasonable span of time has passed, I shall
HTMLize the document and put it up on the list homepage.

BTW, Granite, your reply-to field is overriding the list again.

Ok Tinner, here's what I've figured out so far, and a few questions about
IMSRTCG (Iron Man Shadowrun Card Game:)).

1) Maybe you should choose a point value prior to the game beginning,
otherwise you cant tailor the challenges to the objectives ahead of time.
I suggest going with 20 or 25 point objectives, as these are the most common.

2) How many cards do you need to have in your main deck? 60 still,
without the Challenges and stuff? Or fewer?

3) I suggest certain cards be banned from this type of game, especially if
you get to set up your challenges in advance. Cards like Red alert od
Security Camera will destroy decks and make sleazing impossible, thus
making it TOO difficult. Also, in the same vein, rampaging Mutant should
be banned as well, as Challenges cannot be replaced, and the Mutant could
conceivably remove all challenges on turn one.

4) False Mentor will be useless as the first objective attained will also
win you the game...;]

5) As you mentioned, Bounty Hunter will be VERY powerful in this variant.
You may want to consider Restricting that card to one per deck, if it
porves to be over powering.

Here's a revised rules list that I whipped up.

A) Choose an Objective worth 25 points.

B) Choose 20 Challenge cards and place them in any order.

C) Your deck must contain at least 60 cards.

D) Normal card limits are enforced, with the following inclusions: False
Mentor, Red Alert, Security Cameras (and any other card that is permanently
attached to an objective and removes the ability to sleaze), and Rampaging
mutant are banned from IMSRTCG play.

E) You run only aginst the Objective Stack to your left.

F) Further Challenges may not be placed.

G) The first player to reach their objective wins.

I've just been saving all of the Q&A's in a folder. Lady Jestyr has
already commented that when the time comes, she wants to put our own
compiled game FAQ on the list homepage.

An intercepted 'run is still part of the shadowrun phase, and so the
Sniper Roost (as well as any Indirect Fire weapons - the FN HAR,
Remington 750, and others) can be used on them.

> do we add their fire value to the combat??? can they be hurted???

With the sniper's roost, the Runner's attack value is added to the
combat. (He, she or it must possess firearms, but doesn't need a weapon
to do so.) The Sniper's Roost can't be "shot back at" - there's no
direct danger from challenges - but it and the Runner get scragged one
in three, so use with caution.

This really sucks!

You buy a product which should have 70 cards, with three rares, and you
get one with 69 cards and 2 rares and one with 68 cards and 1 rare, and
the producer is refusing to do a damned thing about it to make it up to
you other than to 'apologize'. Can I build a deck with their apology?
No, I cannot.

Maybe I will not bother with the game anymore until I am assured of a
proper product for what I pay. This is about the only option FASA has
left for me.

1st-Bounty Hunter-can you use it whenever a runner leaves a run, for
whatever reason? Barney Phyffe, Green Apple, or even if they just fall
into the Nets or can't get past the Maglock?
--Bounty Hunter can be used whenever a Runner pulls out of a run
(for any
reason) before taking the Objective.

I'm afraid taht we have no spare Rares to send you so all I can do is
apologize for the collation problems. We're working to fix them ASAP.
The
printer screwed up some of the sorting. Watch the FASA web site for info
on
this as we continue to work on it.

I'm glad you like the game. Thanks for playing!

Lord knows those other seventy cards are just dross, eh! And they must
be swine, for not just tossing cards by the bucketful out to whomever's
got a midge of a complaint.

You could take it with a grain of salt, or be a bit more literal about
what the starter box says (does it say "3 rares, 18 uncommons" on it?
On which panel, again?) Relax; there are greater evils in the world.

Put me down for Shadowplay. However why not something easy to
search for on the net, like 'Shadowrun Trading Card Game Online, or
STCG Online'? or like : 'Internet STCG, or iSTCG'?

Good..I just thought I would ask before to much time passed..since I
had not seen anyone say they were doing it..That way in 6 months
people don't have to sort through the list archives to try and find
all the Q&As... :)

Ya know that is weird..because, Peggy doesn't put anything in the

I do! And I'll be laughing my arse off when I play Luck 'o the Irish
against their Red Alerts. I'll be laughing harder when I use Fastjack
to allow me to go against Gut Check first and THEN Motion Detectors!

And I'll be ROFL'ing when I trick the lusers into going up against my
only Challenge on the objective: Security Consultant! They'll get
stuck in their OWN lock, *BOTH* cards will be trashed, and I will grab
the "formerly locked" Objective on my next turn!!

Are you saying that you must have rares to play? No, you definitely
did not get your values worth, even though the box did not guarantee the
mix you you lead to believe it had. On the other hand, rares are not a
necessity.

best:

Subject: some ramblings on challenges

Some basic thoughts about challenges after a couple of weeks of playing.

best:
guardian dracoform- virtually unsleazable, except for sleep or suicide run
12/10(a3) can wipe out most teams early on- a big bruiser with a drawback
elite security mage- has a built-in green appple quicksteps and increase in
armor
with pumping, it is sleazable, but stealth is a little harder to come
by in a mage
deck.
booby trap- one challenge for one runner can be very good against big monster
decks
maglocks- the new key may change this, but if don't have technical, this can
shut
down an objective
security camera- makes recon useless and is reusable

worst:
electric fence- 2 easy to sleaze, not pumpable, and is an electric challenge
thus vulnerable to deckers- only advantage is targetable damage

what does everyone else think?

I've tried virtually all of the challenges, thus far and these are the ones i
consistently put in my deck or consistently wish i had put into my deck.

does anyone else think the uzi is just undeniably the best gun, burst fire
for one cash
is spectacular.

And if I had one, I'd drool over it too :)

Pumpable.. and expensive to do so. I prefer the lighterweight Mage
Strike Team, myself - you keep the armor-pumping, which is absolutely
key. I'd suppose the Green Apple function of the Elite Mage is only
usable when it isn't sleazed..

> booby trap- one challenge for one runner can be very good against big monster

Too easy a sleaze. Not everyone has demo, admittedly.

> maglocks- the new key may change this, but if don't have technical, this can

Graet lock-out card. Works great with Harlequin. :)

> security camera- makes recon useless and is reusable

Only good if you can keep drawing cards quickly. It's also got a bad
"out-of-campaign" effect: once it's revealed, it goes back into your
hand - where your 'pone may be able to keep track of it, and so he knows
beforehand what Challenge he's facing. Like Booby Trap, an easy sleaze;
in most cases, I'd prefer to lay the actual Challenge down instead.

> worst:
> electric fence- 2 easy to sleaze, not pumpable, and is an electric challenge

Targetable damage is a good thing, though. For a common, I'd take it;
naturally the rare Challenges are eviller - wish it wasn't that way,
but, sigh...

I'm partial to the FN HAR myself - gotta love indirect fire. I don't
find the burst fire too useful; too quickly, you pass the amount of yen
you'd've paid for a heavier gun.

Ricochet's a good card to have, both offensively and defensively; I'd
only use on in a deck I had burst-fire guns in, though.
