I think it's pretty much implied that a decker with Recon uses the
matrix to spy on the challenges. Otherwise why would a custom system
prevent them from using the ability? I have always played that Recon
is a matrix action.

No other decker (besides the decker that works for the company would
have access to the closed system.... So I really don't think this
is a good comparison. But that doesn't mean that you aren't write.
Damn my logical thinking....

I think FASA just took a card text short cut, when they wrote that card.
Personally I think the card should read 2 nuyen: Turn to look at a
target challenge. This represents the drones ability to sneak around in
cramped places like airducts...

And this is how I think the Crawler works as well... The skimmer flies
in fast and gets shot down before it returns to the rigger. And the
Corporate Secretary checks out the paperwork at the corperation.

Once again this is IMHO.
