I think allowing for the option to be used after the die roll make this
card *far* too powerful for its cost. Cf. with Lucky Wabbit's Foot,
which allows you to edit a result after the roll.
(and it's Gear that can be trashed, has a cost of 5, and so on.)
So my vote is that you have to declare you intention (ie, "Okay, I'm
playing a Loaded Die for -1) before the roll is made. It's *very*
ambiguously worded, however.

Let's take these case-by-case:
- Sleep: Definitely works. Note that its only good against one
Challenge, one reason I'm beginning to prefer Shamans. (That and
Biotech). Invisibility would also work for the user; assuming the
Challenge was, say, Security Guards before they got fleshformed, Detect
Enemy would *not* be good (since the Challenge is replaced by the
Critter.)
- Stun Gloves: Again, yes, since Stun Gloves specifically affect
Awakened and Personnel Challenges.
- Regardless of what the Challenges were originally, all the Decker
stealth toys (Redirect Datatrail, Crash, Steamroller, and what's the
other one? - yeah, Sleaze - won't work.
Similarly, you can't trash Razorback to get past the mutant Security
Guards, and so on.

Strictly speaking, they're not Challenges (and the three cards you
mention specify Challenges), so they wouldn't work. However, I can't
think of a reason to call them Awakened if they weren't meant to be
affected.
