All damage that can be assigned to the Runner wearing the armor. (In
the example I clipped, it's 8 damage -- 6 Body + 2 Armor). Using one of
the Tactics cards, you can assign all damage to the Runner in question,
and he can trash the armor to shrug it off.

I'll walk across the street now, and answer Forrest's question -- damage
is applied simultaneously to all Runners and Challenges present, so a
Runner can't take a horkful of damage, shrug off the armor, and take
another hit.

Not sure what the armored vest question is supposed to be.
