You don't have to use the weapon you are holding, only if you want the
combat bonus of the weapon. On a aside note I believe if you have a
non-silenced weapon you can declare you are not using it against a
specific objective. So in effect if the runners attack values are enough
to defeat the challenge without using non-silenced weapons then the
alarm would not be triggered. I remember reading this from a previous
question some time ago, I think???

Fame, guard, stamina etc are considered traits not skills so the
character would still have them. It would be nice if you could use this
card on a dwarf, elf etc

A character with guard must turn to use this ability therefore he could
only use it once per turn, also the character with guard must be present
with the runner taking damage ie on the run together of in the safehouse
together
