This is a slightly pesky one. However, from the section on Drones:

"When a Rigger goes on a shadowrun, he can declare at any point during
hte shadowrun that he is using, or activating, a Drone. At this point,
the player turns the Drone. Once turned, the card is present on the
shadowrun."

Switching Shaman for Rigger and Spirit for Drone, it appears that the
Shaman is only going to take damage once a turn, not once for every
battle that they get into.
