wouldn't work for damage in runner-vs-runner combat. As for how much
damage to soak: page 29 of the RBT says "A Runner with Guard may take
damage equal to his body." I assume this to mean two things. One, that
he may take damage equal to his body + armor (i.e. enough to kill him,
but not more, as has been clarified by FASA in other areas of alotting
damage). Two, the word MAY means he can choose to take anywhere from
one point to the lethal number.

Unfortunatly in runner vs runner combat neither runner is in the safehouse so
gaurd does not work in these situations. Driveby and riots can be gaurded
against however.
