Subject: | HOME RULES FOR TOURNAMENTS. |

I planne to make a tournament in Belgium in a reltively short time but i am
not entirely satisfied with the official tournaments rules, so here are my
home rules.
I'd like to know wath you think of them because i plane to send them to
FASA, see if they can accept them as a third tounament type.
Here they are:
Type: Multi-player, Multi-round, scored play, timed
Number of players: Any.
Description:
The tourmament is based on the MTG swiss system.
At last four rounds, with alternatively "four players" games and "two
player" games.( I really like FASA idea of mixing two and four players games.)
It begin with a four players game, the round end after 1H or if someone get
60 reputation points.
The second round is a two player game, time limit 45 minutes or 60
reputations points.the tricky part is, from now, to sort player by
reputation point and to make the two players with the higher score play one
against the other, then the two next, and so on, in taking care that no
player play against the same opponent twice.
This can be achieved by giving all player a sheet of paper where he can
write the following informations for each match :
match number played against: A B C rep.earned: total rep.:
the third and fourth rounds are respectively four and two players games
you can have a fifth and sixth round if wanted. (an extra round may be
needed in case of ties.)
After those, the four players with the highest reputation score goes to the
final.
The two biggest advantages of this system are:
-there is no direct elimination
-each player play against an opponent of the same level (theorically)
Waiting for your comments.
