Unfortunately, if the designers *didn't* want to make tokns count as
Gear, there's no easy way of telling this -- it may always look like an
oversight, when it's meant to be an implied function. Or

It might not be a matter of changing Club V to read Gear/Drug tokens;
the Tokens section of the rulebook might be updated to mentioning that
tokens cannot be traded between parties. (What's to stop me from giving
nuyen to my friend in a four-player game? 'Speaking on behalf' of my
friend and giving him the Reputation? Why doesn't a player who swears
and farts the length of a game get reduced Reputation for it? If I
spill a Coke on the cards representing my Runners, are they fragged
because of it?)
There's obviously a point to which you have to 'live' in the fictional
world SRTCG creates, and equally a point to which house rules have to be
suborned to the master rule set.
