Good point, and I agree as I saw more and more Prime Runners showing
up with myriads of skills and most ranking in the 2's and 3's.

Here's my RL card again (as opposed to the Loki card named for me in
Underworld). I'll give a bit more explanation as to why what is what.

J.J.
Human Decker
Cost: 4¥
Threat Rating: 2/3
Skills: Decking, Social, Leadership
Traits: Recon
Special: J.J. receives a +1 to dice rolls made at Shadowland.
Flavor: "It's not a matter of knowing the info, it's knowing where to
look it up."

Pic: Heavy-set human male w/ goatee and six earrings at a computer
surrounded by books using any and everything as bookmarks.

With my size and build I also considered being an ork, in which case
the cost would raise to 5¥ and threat rating to 3/4.

The Decking skill represents my being in the computer support field
for the past 3 1/2 to 4 years. I'm currently A+ certified w/
DOS/Windows specialty and studying for the first of my MCSE exams,
after I get a few of those under my belt I'll porbably bump it up to
Decking-2.

Social ties in as I'm always described as amiable and personable on by
friends as well as strangers, not to mention rating high in these
areas on numerous reviews. Plus, I have several years of customer
service experience.

Leadership ties in with the above. Add in my rank/position on SRCard
and a years in management positions. Like Tony, I've also served as
captain in this, officer in that, etc. in school. I guess 8+ years of
GMing my SR group can also count as Leadership experience. :o)

Recon and the Shadowland special I attribute to skill and experience
with the 'Net and a network of contacts. I'm always using the 'Net, an
MSDN library resources like technet and so forth as I research issues
with my work. I have a developed line of contacts and fields of parlay
with FASA when it comes to issues and info on SRRPG and SRTCG. I
average 50-150 emails a day from contacts and newsgroups. I also serve
as a focal point for my LAN support team onsite at Motorola as the guy
with the notes, and the one to ask for researching an issue. It seemed
fitting.

I didn't rank any of the skills above one, though I may have been able
to justify Decking-2 if I really pushed. A personal sense of humility
kept me with what I thought was a blanced card and a balanced
representation of self.

Well, there you have it. Hope it makes some sense.
