I don't know if this helps or not. The way we play SG is the card is
essentially trashed, I leave it out though since I have a really bad
memory :-) If it ever becomes important for it to be in the trash
then it is considered to be in the trash. I didn't really follow the
whole counter/token thread so I don't know how that relates to this (I
saw another post that mentioned something about using a counter to
designate the SG). For me it is just easier to leave the card out,
but it's not "in play"...
