I have to agree with you one hundred percent. The group I play with
started to reach the point where almost all of us had the complete
collection. We started to notice the occurence of certain cards such as
False Mentor and Lord Torgo being used by everyone. Ultimately we decided
to tone the power level of the game down with the following rules:

- False Mentor and The Z-Zone are banned
- No decks with more than 12 Rares and 2 of any given card (of
course unique
cards are still unique)
- The rarity limit does not apply to Objectives

False Mentor was banned, not because it was unbalancing, but because
the only reason everyone played with it was because everyone else played
with it. We concurred as a group not to play with the card (and thus freed
up one of the 12 rare slots).

The Z-Zone got banned after I put it in a deck and trouced my
friends in 3 consecutive games. It was a badly worded card and we were
never sure precisely how to use it. We'll consider playing with it again
after it gets errated in the 2nd Run.

Restricting the deck to 2 rares and only 2 of each card was an
attempt to reduce the power level (and force people to use some lower power
common cards).

Ultimately, this didn't work all that well. We started seeing decks
with 2 Skawaaaaaark!s, 2 Knuckles, 1 Lord Torgo, 2 Dermal Plating, 2 Heavy
Armor Fulls, 2 Tinman, etc.

My ultimate problem is not that my group was attempting to make Big
Bruiser decks (we weren't) but that even a small amount of Armor becomes a
VERY powerful thing very quickly. That's why I think that one of the things
that definately needs to be developed are Gear/Specials/Challenges that
negatively effect runners in armor. This way armor becomes more of a risk to
play with.

Okay, that's enough whining for tonight. :)
