Actually, I kinda like the idea of a version of wired (as first strike
ability). Perhaps if the challenge is taken out before it gets a chance
to deal dammage, the attack would be considered silenced. You can always
have more than one runner with this new piece of cyberware (perhaps this
is the "boosted reflexes" card) and would perhaps have a lower essence
cost.
