The tournaments are run by various shopkeepers, with them or another
chosen person watching time and assigning opponents. We usually play 50
minutes for 80 Rep, two-player games. The tourney scheme varies. Usually
the opponents are chosen randomly, and after 4-5 games, the best 4
players play it out for 1st to 3rd place, depending on the number of
participants. These last two games´ opponents are first at random and in
the second game, the best two and the other two play against each other.
Another scheme gives points for winning, more points the better the
loser plays the tournament. These points are assigned after all games
are over, to calculate each player´s "class".
I don´t know FASA´s "semi-official" rules, but they told me there will
be official tourney rules out with 2nd Run.
The tourney-running shopkeepers can send the results in a form to
Fantasy Productions, the German distributor, where they compile them
into a rank list by assigning tourney-points depending on the number of
players in each tournament, starting from 8 players upward.
Ask me if you have any mor questions.
