Not quite, Matb. We've already heard from FASA and once the card is
encountered (i.e. - turned over and the text is read) WT get's
trashed. You can pull out or roll the dice at that point.

Here's the response as put in the SRCard Q&A:

Q1: The word "encountered" on Widow's Trap means what that word
usually means in the "real" world (i.e.: outside of CCGs, where we all
twist and abuse language to our own ends). One Widow's Trap has been
revealed, and you've read and addressed the text on the card, it has
been encountered and it is trashed.

A1: The reason it doesn't say "Trash after Revealed" is because that
particular phrase will be gone after Second Run is released (after
all, you really don't trash Challenges immediately after they are
revealed. They'd have no effect!).

I'm sure this response will stir some controversy, but let me point
out that Widow's Trap is considerably nastier than Chomps 2000. Like
Chomps, it almost guarantees that the shadowrun is over. However, if
the player needs to continue to stay in the game, he doesn't just face
6 points of damage (which may or may not kill a Runner). He faces the
chance of losing 1, 2, or ALL of his Runners. That's pretty nasty…

At worst, Widow's Trap stops a 'run. That's not bad…

(I kinda wonder if Tony cut and pasted the right stuff, as that
doesn't exactly look like a Q & A as much as the A overlapping into
the Q.)

FWIW it's started in Underworld, and I'm sure will continue through
Corp Wars and the revisions in 2nd Run. Sleazing and trashing will be
more distinguished, and the things that should be trashed will be
noted thusly.
