I love sealed deck, but I think it's problematic to try to have a Sealed
Deck tourney at a major con. Why? Because when you get a group of good
players together, whoever gets the best deck will win. It's not the guy
who pulls Lord Torgo as his rare. It's the guy who pulls 2 Stompers, 2
Katanas, 2 Hand Razors and a Stiletto. Certain cards become INCREDIBLY
powerful in sealed deck - in Magic, it tends to be that if one person gets
a bunch of fliers to attack, and direct damage to remove your opponent's
fliers, they win. In this, it could be the person who gets 3 or 4 useful
guys, 3 good gear cards, and some removal cards (GAQ, WGC, Bad Rep) that
runs away with it, even if other players are better.
