Of course, you can use GAQS on the runner but since the attack never
occured, the Wanted card stays. There are better solutions to this
problem. Use Bodyguard, LOTI, Tactics: Scatter.

Even yesterday, my friend played that card on my mage. He sent a runner
with a FN HAR. I Whoops! his firearm so that he couldn't kill my runner.
Result: everyone was alive and the Wanted! card was gone.
