Subject:	Origins SRTCG Tournament

Well, this info isn;t complete, I know, but... I told you I'd fill you
guys (and gals) in when I knew more, so here goes...

The tournament is called "The Showdown", and it will be a timed, three
round tourney. The entrance fee is $10.00, and it is a sealed deck
tournament.

All participants will play all three rounds, and the tournament is
scheduled for Friday of the Con (July 3rd?) at 2:00, and will run for about
4 hours.

I should be getting a copy of the Tournament rules tomorrow morning, but
from what i was told, here's how scoring goes:

First round pairing will be determined randomly. At the end of round one
(As far as I understand, there isn;t a set rep goal. Instead it's played
for the full hour or so with players accumulating as many rep points as
possible), players total up their rep as well as their "Assets". Assests
will include all of the Runners in play, and may inlcude things like
contacts and locations, but I'm not positive.

Round two is then paired up counting both rep and assets, and two highest
ranked players will face off, then the next two highest ranked, and so on.
This paris up the "better" decks and players right away, avoiding
potentially easy wins on the part of people who get a "bad" starter deck.
Atthe end of round two, the rep and assets are recounted, and the pairing
proceeds like round one did.

Round three is played the same way. However, at the end of round three,
only Rep will be used to determine the winners of the tournament. Assets
will be used as a tie breaker, if necessary, but otherwise will have no
bearing in the overall status of the tournament.

Anyways, that's the tournament for ya! Sounds like it was well thought
out, well balanced, and should be a lot of fun. Dammit, I want to play!
