Generally damage is distributed by the shadowrunning player, and can be
tossed around in whatever manner he or she feels fit. If a team of (six
total) Sam the Sleuths and Macabres faced off against a Guardian
Dracoform (heh heh - 12/10), the shadowrunning player could assign two
damage to all six Runners, or three damage to four, or any similar
combination.

If it was a Fusion Gate, though, the owner of the Challenge would
ditribute damage. He might do four points to one Runner (killing him
off) and then one point to another, or maybe distribute one point of
damage to five of the Runners.
