The way I understand damage, is that it depends on the challenge. If the
card states that the owner of the Challenge applies the damage, then s/he
gets to choose how it is divided. Regadless of who applies the damage,
it does not have to be placed on one runner until it is killed then on
another until it is killed. For example on a Chomps 2000. The owner of a
six runner Shadowrunner team could put one point of damage on each
runner.

-Another example: Fusion Gate the owner of the challenge could put all
of the damage on one runner or split it however s/he wishes.

Feel free to let me know if any of you disagree.
