Except for the opportunities to get rid of it via LOTI, Lucky Wabbit's
Foot,
etc., and the condition that the runner must have lost essence for it to
take effect, etc.

This especially works in shadowrun. There are common cards I'll use in
every
deck, and Rares I'll never use, but having this card be a one shot deal
makes it almost useless. Besides, note the wording "This turn", which
would
seem to indicate a series of turns.

Let me quote the text: "Runner's owner must roll a D6 at the start of
his turn". It doesn't say Every Turn or Next Turn but, at the start of
his turn, no turnS. That's why we rule that the card only has one shot.
