Subject: Native American Expansion Set
Date: Thu, 25 Jun 1998 16:32:00 -0700
My thanks to everyone who commented on the Native American
mini-expansion set I posted a few days ago. I've actually gotten more
responses than I anticipated.

There is a slim, probably-unrealistic chance that this may actually
become an official expansion - y'know, cards you can touch and feel and
trade for Lord Torgo. I'm pretty satisfied with the thirty-two cards
which form, more or less, the backbone of the set.

I'm opening the expansion up to anyone who would like to contribute.
If, if, this makes it into print, I'll try and see that everyone
receives a byline next to the illustrator and copyright (or maybe even a
card named after them).

I'm looking to create an end product something like this:
- 140 cards (Underworld-sized), divided more or less evenly between all
card types. Rarities can be decided later.
- Strong Native American theme. Some 'general use' cards will probably
worm their way in as well. Cards have to be pretty tightly worded; not
including skills and sleaze ratings, card descriptions have to be under
36 words maximum, half that for Runners.
- Strong Shadowrun atmosphere. Cards drawn from the Native American
Nations sourcebooks, Target: Smuggler's Havens, and the Aztlan
sourcebook are especially welcome. Cards that draw too heavy on other
sources (other ccgs, for example) will be looked down upon.

There exists the potential for one or more new game mechanics (much like
UW introduced 'arresting' and Virus tokens). Any new game mechanics
have to be spelled out the actual card.

Since I'd prefer not to get deluged by email, please send in no more
than six at a time. This isn't a race to create the most cards; it's an
attempt to make the *best* cards. I'll privately email all contributors
each week with the status of the set.

Anyone who would care to playtest the cards - sit down and run through a
couple games, try and 'break' each card - is gladly appreciated. I'd
love to hear how a particular card works (or *didn't*) in your game.

Also, I'm going to keep the original thirty-two cards posted on my
website, for easy referral. Let the games begin! :)
