#Shiawase Corporation
Home office location: Osaka (Japan)
The most diversified of all big 8 megacorporations. The activity ranges
from power generation to biotech to environmental engineering, all of
them beeing high technology.
The corporation is mostly family buisness (the Shiawase family) which
owns over 44% of the company's shares.
The major divisions are Shiawase Atomics, Shiawase Biotech and Schiawase
Envirotech.
#Yamatetsu Corporation
Home office location: Kyoto (Japan)
A real high technology corporation which focuses on "(meta)human factors
engineering". That means that most of its research involoves boosting
(meta)human performance in a wide range of fields. It deals from cuttin'
edge cyber and bioware to ergonmically designed teleoperation
workstations.
The corporation is owned by a diverse range of shareholders. It's
rumoured that a certain Buttercup, who owns 11% of the shares, could be
a free spirit.
#Mitsuhama Computer Technologies
Home office location: Kyoto (Japan)
Most of the activity lies in various facets of computerization. But MCT
is also a pre-eminent designer and marketer of physical interfaces by
which computers directly affect the physical world.
The structure of MCT follows a typical average corporation. The major
shareholders do not run the company which as a management team distinct
from the corp's owners.
It's rumoured that the major sharegholders are the oyaboun of four of
the major yakuza families, and that the corporation allows them to draw
a significent legitimate income as well as to launder money.
