Actually, that's just like Biotech: "Biotech allows a Runner to
completely heal a Runner ... that is present" (p. 28, RBT).

Only Runners participating in the shadowrun (that includes Runners
present on the run, and those assisting from the safehouse with Indirect
Fire, Matrix Programs, and whatnot) can directly affect the shadowrun.

I've occasionally played with a house-rule allowing Guard to both be
used from the safehouse; in both cases, they count as Runners assisting
with the shadowrun. It doesn't work out too badly -- Bodyguards usually
have good skills and a decent Threat Rating -- which is exactly why I
can't see it working for Biotech. It protects them too well.
