Subject: Another Idea... I ran this across matt
Date: Fri, 10 Jul 1998 20:13:17 EDT
hey guys tell me what you think i ran this across MattB today and i would like
to run it across the list. I wanted to run it across the list and let you guys
know what you think.

(Name)
Prime Runner

Pay 4 nuyen and bring out 1 ShadowWolf (Just a made up name)
Shadowolf is a 5/5 runner and is treated as a regular runner.
(Now i was thinking of saying something like this on the card "Can be used
once per turn" but thinking about it now.. the card is too powerful so we
have to give it a balance somewhere.) Okay how about this "If Shadow wolf
isn't used once every other turn he turns on it's master and does two armor
piercing damage to a random runner. I was thinking this would be good so you
don't have like 5 shadowolfs in the safehouse waiting to run.

So okay lets narrow this down.

(Name)
Prime Runner (Runner is 6 Nuyen to bring out and 1 to Upkeep)
Pay 5 Nuyen to bring out one Shadow wolf per turn. Shadow wolf is treated as a
normal runner. If Shadowolf isn't used once every other turn he does 2 armor
piercing damage to a random runner.

So what do you think?

THIS IS WHAT MATT B REPLIED

Sounds like it has a lot of potential. I could see a Runner who has a
pack of wolves following him (say, 2¥ for a 3/3 Wolf, treated similar to
Drones, but not called a Drone). Ahh -- that's not really a big effect.

A completely new Runner .. that's pretty big. I'd probably contort the
limiter effect to "If (token Runner) is unturned at the end of any turn,
trash (token Runner)." Which isn't really that big of a limit,
considering you'll probably pop em out to visit the Iron Lung.

Another *strong* limiter would be to make the generator Runner Prime,
with an Upkeep equal to the number of token Runners he's generated (and
possibly the tokens being trashed if he is, too.) Sounds like a Gang
Leader to me! I'd also reduce the token Runner's Threat Rating, to
maybe 4/4 -- 3/3 is too weak, though.
